Hi,

A friend of mine got a Duron 800 with an Asus A7V motherboard and a V7100 (Geforce MX 16 mb) video card. I've tried everything to have NHL 2001 to work (from reformating and installing w98se+via drivers+nvidia drivers, to bios flashing, to default settings, etc.). The game is unplayable, the display is all choppy and full of artifacts. Other EA games, like Fifa 2001 work fine though. I've tried
disabling fast writes also, to no avail. The same game works fine on other PCs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

1) Ring Nvidia / EA Tech support
2) Take back your graphics card and ask them to test NHL 2001 on it, if it works, then it's just your computer, if it doesn't ask them to replace it.

I am lokking at getting a similar set-up A7V with the Asus V7100.
I was wondering if there were compatibility problems with this setup? The ASUS website recommends the P3 sytems with the V7100 but they don't specifically say anything about a K7 system. ?????

Nope, I installed it in turbo mode. Could this be the problem? If I understand this correctly, standard mode would set it up in 1x-2x instead of 4x...

If i'm correct, look at the readme.txt file that came with the vid drivers for your card in there it should say "if your installing on a via chipset install in normal mode" or something to that effect. Via chipsets does not particularly like or is compatible with the turbo (or 2X4X) AGP port, and besides it runs much more reliable at 1X agp. My opinion.

Edit: BTW get the 4.28 version of the 4-1.
