i have and a7v that when i switch it on using the power button, won't turn on. i hear the the thing start to churn, hard drive spins up, lights go on, but the monitor doesn't kick in and it just seems to hang. if i hit reset it will sometimes just start up normally. other times i have to hit reset a couple times and then it kicks me into the bios saying there was an incorrect internal speed setting and it had to go into bios safe mode.
help
thanks

Yeah, Mine does the same thing sometimes. I know that the ATA/100 driver really slow the boot time big time. I wonder if that had anything to do with our problem.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Has anyone solved this problem yet??

I seem to have the same problem. I have a 1Ghz Athlon, 256MB PC133 DIMM and an Asus A7Pro. The A7Pro is basically the same board as the A7V, minus the Promise IDE controller. I am using the latest BIOS for the A7Pro - 1005D.

Almost every time I turn the system on, it fails to POST. By pushing the reset button it will then usually post and run fine.

Almost, I noticed that when it fails to POST, the CPU gets much hotter. If I turn the system on, and quickly push reset to get it to POST, BIOS usually sets the CPU is around 110F. However, if I turn it on and let it sit for a minute before pushing the reset button, BIOS says the CPU is 125F. I can feel this difference with my finger on the side of the heatsink.

The temperature change leads me to think its a voltage problem.
