Is it true, I'm using Tbird 900, my full load temp is:59 C(CPU), 40 C(MOBO)
Using standard HSF

i dont know our local hsf guru(mikewarrior) says they report low, but it does "seem" right. my 900 tops out at 51c proc and 30something mobo after running Seti@home for 5 hours. im using a Superorb hsf. i would sugest getting a new HSF, ask on the cooling forum which one to get im sure he will pop in.

that is a bit high, i am running a thunderbird 900 on A7V also and my temps right now are 34/93 and that is after it being on for close to 14 hours so far. i am cheating on you though 🙂 read this link and see what you think. contact me if you need any further info

hclarkjr is talking about H-Oda's well known utilities that Dulanic and I checked out a while back. It works for the TBird NOT THE DURON. In any case with the 1003e3 Juggernaut's BIOS the HLT command is enabled whereas in the latest BIOS it is not. My temps are 43C at idle (with 1003e3 it was 37C) and frankly it is a duron so I don't really care much since they are so cheap.
I would say that you need to replace that Heatsink with something like Thermogen's newest HS or something similar. Avoid ORBs. Thermaltake also has a reasonable priced Volcano II.

you can run this hack with the duron now, Duron / SB Live owners: Set reg 70 to DC when using the temp hack and it will correct the sound issue. You cannot use Wpcrset to set reg 70, it may crash windows on boot especially in Win2k.

from what i have seen so far it is on computer by computer basis on who it works for and who it doesn't work for. i think drivers may have something to do with it too. i am happy i got such good results with it.
