ASUS A7V Reporting Incorrect Core Voltage?

I'm running a Duron 600 @ 800 on an A7V rev 1.01

Why is it when I set my core voltage @ 1.675 - 1.70 (via jumpers) the bios
and asus pc probe report the core voltage to be 1.744 - 1.76 volts?

I'm currently running stable and cool (31-34c idle w/ GOrb) but I'd like to
run @ 850 or even 900.
When I go to 850, it seems stable w/ core voltage of 1.80 (once again
pcprobe is reporting that its higher 1.85)
but its not 100% stable. Shoudl I fiddle with the VIO settings, it's
currently at the defaul 3.56volts but I saw on a site to lower it down tothe
3.35v. This is confusing me because it the manual it says you may have to
UP the VIO voltage to overclock... should I up it to the 3.69v setting?

Oh and do you think that maybe setting the vcore voltage to "jumperless"
mode would work better for my overclock?

Yes, it is known that the A7V does give more voltage than you tell it to on the BIOSes before 1004. Some find that this is a feature. As for the I/O voltage, people have been saying that the CPU runs cooler at a lower I/O voltage. I have also heard that the 3.5v is already high, and that anything higher has a pretty good chance of damaging some hardware.

Regarding your personal success, i think you should be able to get up at the 850, though it will be a bit tricky. Some Durons just don't do as great as some of the others. You can still up the voltage a bit and shoot for 850. You can also try jumper mode. It seems to run a tad more stable that way, but not a lot. But then again, it might make a difference.
