Asus A7V PCI Slot 2 IRQ Conflict w/onboard ATA 100 Controller

There is an IRQ conflict with PCI Slot 2 and the ATA 100 controller on the Asus A7V motherboard. PCI Slot 2 is disabled and results in a system crash when the onboard ATA 100 controller is engaged simutaneouly. How is this resolved WITHOUT IRQ sharing and/or losing the use of PCI Slot 2 while engaging the Promise ATA 100 controller?
