Asus A7V Freezing - Network/PCI Latency Problem?

I have a home phoneline network setup. My ASUS A7V-based client is freezing/locking up whenever I use network functions, such as browsing via ICS or accessing files through the network. The lockups occured within a minute of using the network functions. I was told to lower AGP strength to 2x, I did this and it helped out, but I still get the occasional lockup. I remember I lowered my PCI Latency to 0 because it was recommended to help out with SB Live!s, but I fear that this may be causing the problems. What is a good PCI Latency setting? Could the problem be due to some way my network is set up? Both client and server are using NetGear Phoneline 10x cards.

Thanks!

The computer in question.

Those who advise u on setting PCI latency to 0 (zero) r the one tht mislead u the most.

I suggest u read this to know better.

Min setting for the PCI latency should be 32. Increasing the latency will increase the performance of the PCI components (incl. the HDD).

But never increase the latency above 64. There seems to be no performance gain by increasing from 64 to 128. But there is gain if increase from 32 to 64.

I forgot the VGA part. Yeah...in certain circumstances, lowering the VGA speed from 4X to 2X solved some probs w/ hanged. This is due to incompatibility on certain combination setup in ur box. It could be VGA drivers related probs as well.

However, there should not be a significant drop in graphic performance by switching from 4X to 2X.
