I have an A7V-E mother board and a Duron 750. I want to o/C the processer but I have hit a few problems.
According to my mother board manual I can jumper set the MB to change FSB frequency and multiplyer and voltage via bios.So far so good
Computer boots up good. Set FSB to 110 and speed is 825 MHZ.
Next I try to unlock the Duron.Using quick grid to bridge the gaps on the L1 bridges making sure they do not touch each other I boot up.
In the bios There is no place I can see to change the multipler. I am kinda puzzled so I try to use the M/B jumpers to set FSB and and multipler. Setting them to 100 FSB and x10 multipler boots me into post and says 935 Mhz but windows wont boot. Thinking I crossed some bridges i clean off the quick grid and try again. Same Same.
How come I cant set Multipler and Voltage from BIOs ? Why does 100 x 10 get me 935 mhz ?
Should i update to the new bios from Asus ?
I have set every thing back to default and every thing is happy at 825 MHZ.
Any one Have this MB and chip ? The MB is supposed to support the same features as A7V.

Wait wait...
You have a couple of choices here
Jumper mode
Bios mode
or you can set voltage via jumpers and FSB and multiplier in the bios

You CANNOT set multiplier and voltage in bios and FSB on the board.

But you still have to be choosing the right setting on the jen jumper.

Yes but where do the settings show up in the BIOS. If I enable jumperfree mode on the mother board according to the ASUS manual I should be able to set the Multipler the Voltage and the FSB all for the bios. When I unlock my Duron By closing the L1 bridges I should be able to set all the settings via the bios.

CPU external freQuencies may also be adjusted in jumper free mode using bios software.
jumperfree mode: Allows processor settings of frequency and Vcore voltage all through bios setup when jumper free mode is enabled.
