I d\loaded the latest bios for A7V, but i can't install it, because it
always says error opening file. The bios rev is 1004a, A7V1004a, it' extention is .awd It report as a fax view file. I want to update it, cause the bios loads the drivers for the drive but it doesn,t work.
It sees the hd as ATA100 when detecting it but reports 'none' on the boot-up screen ide master, and i can,t access the drive from DOS when
this happens. I installed the new rev1.60 drivers from Promise.
System, all New hardware:
Aopen full tower/300w p/s
Asus A7V rev 1.02 M/B
Mushkin PC133 cas2 ram 256megsx1
Maxtor Diamond Max Ultra45 20.4gigs ATA100
T-Bird 800@800 (no o/c yet)
ATI Radeon 32Mb
SB Live Value
Aopen fm56pm Modem
Gnet network card pci
Altec Lansing cs-45 4.1 speakers
Win ME (finally got it work Radeon card, after about 12 re-installs and
reboots)
Now everything works fine except those ata100 ide connector on the M/B.
I tried installing the bios from a floppy and from the hd, always the same error.
Has anyone else have this problem? I read that some of you did update to rev1004a.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
