OK great gurus on AT.

I just upgraded my A7V from 900 to 1.4. Added 256mb Crucial ram to 512 (God knows if I need it but it was just sitting in a box)

Added a new, unformated 20GB maxtor drive to my secondary ATA100 channel. Set drive as master.
I already have a 40gb drive on the primary ATA 100 channel (set as master) that's working fine.
I have a cd/dvd drive on the primary IDE channel and a CD burner on the secondary IDE channel.

Anyway, I can't see the new 20 gigger in windows to format it and start using it. It does not show up in explorer but does show in device manager.

Any ideas?

Also, I read that there were once data corruption issues with using both ATA100 channels in a non-raid configuration. Any truth to that.

Thanks for the help

You won't see it until you create a partition with Win9X/Me.
In Win2K/XP you need to go to Disk Management to do it.
Tell us wich OS you have :)

BTW, I had no probs running 2 IDE drives without RAID
using ATA100 controller.

make sure that the drive is detected at bootup.
use fdisk in dos to partition your drive, reboot
then format...
