ASUS A7V and HP 4100C Scanner

I have had this combo for over one year with absolutly no problem. I remember when setting up initially had to make a change in one of the bios settings. I am having the same errow now, scaner stops responding after starting. Unfortunaltly the HP forums are no longer up, and Asus A7V forum is no longer up. Any help? I think it was some chipset setting. Thank You in advance.:disgust::disgust:
