Asus A7V and Apacer RAM problem ........ headache

Hi ......

FYI .... motherboard > Asus A7V
RAM (all Apacer) > 1st slot > 256MB , 2nd slot 256MB , 3rd slot 128MB .....
O/S > windows 98se

Problems ....
1) Motherboard can detect this RAM.....
2) Norton Systemworks 2001 cannot run any test on this RAM ?? something like error status
3)Asus Probe2 also displays errors .... and I found out that i lost 192MB ....... ???
4)When I put just a 256MB RAM in the 1st slot. It works fine ..............

Is it I got a defect motherboard .......... ?? or defect RAM ???

Try running them at CAS3...but losing 192m is very strange...maybe a BIOS flash...
