I have the ASUS A7V-133 motherboard I just got back from the RMA, I downloaded the product guide but I am still unsure where to set the settings. I'm just running a 1.0ghz T-Bird. Right now, with the settings from the factory it starts up, but the screen stays blank. Any ideas/comments/suggestions? I'm sure it's just a matter of jumper settings...

Actually I was wondering if you could e-mail me some information about how to get in touch with ASUS. I need to RMA a board from them, but I couldn't find a Tech Support phone number, only e-mail. Of course they haven't responded to the 3 mails that I sent. Please send an e-mail to cowpimpin@hotmail.com and tell me how to get a hold of these people!

Trevor,

Starts up and only goes blank (no POST, nothing at all), or does it get through the POST and go blank afterwards (while trying to boot from a drive)?

If you can get into the BIOS with the DEL key, check the settings.

If you can't even get into the BIOS Setup, try clearing the BIOS Settings (explained on page 59 in the manual), and also check the jumper settings (the Dipswitch, VID1-4 jumpers, and the JEN jumper) as shown on page 18 of the manual.

Nope, can't even get into the BIOS, the screen stays blank.

I have a manual I download, but my MB has two set's of DIM's, one with 5 dims and one with 6 dims. And the manual I have doesn't list the one with 6 dims...

The MB is an Asus A7V133/550/SWA if that helps..

I'm not sure what the /550/SWA part means, or if mine is the same, but I have an A7V133, and it matches up with the manual. I have the 5 switch DSW and the 6 switch DSFID dipswitches in the positions shown on pages 22 and 23 (similar to pages 17/18, but more detailed descriptions of each).

Just set all of the switches on the 5 pin DSW switch to up (white pins towards the numbers printed on the switch). The settings on the 6 pin switch shouldn't matter, but in case they do, use either:
6=Down, 5=Down, 4=Up, 3=Up, 2=Up, 1=Down if you have a 100MHz FSB,
or 6=Down, 5=Down, 4=Up, 3=Down, 2=Down, 1=Up if you have the 133MHz FSB (Athlon-C).

I'm looking at Rev. 1.02 of the manual (2nd page has rev. #).

Get it here

Tried the dip switches, still no go. It's as if it's no sending signal to the monitor...

I'll take a look at this other manual (Different than the one I got, looks right) and try to see what's up....
