Asus A7V 133, not booting with a AMD 1.2 GHZ FSB 266

Hi

cant get this configuration to work -

AMD 1.2 Ghz, 266 FSB
ASUS A7V 133
Asus 7100 Geforce 2 MX
512 MB SDRAM

what happens is that the board comes to live, but never gets to initialize keyboard or screen, so the monitor is dead, and the keyboard is dead.
Tried another video card, other RAM, removed all add-on cards, still same problem.

tried to switch the mobo to jumpermode, using 9 x 133 Mhz, which should do the trick, but same problem.
Seems like the mobo, does not recognize the CPU, but both Asus, and AMD says that this setup is valid !

also, tried resetting the bios, but still the same ...

Look underneath the socket retention clip nearest the ram, have you scratched any of the traces ?

Need some more info.
Is it a new system, or have you upgraded?
Does it POST, or do you get beeps?
Do any of the fans work?
Have you double checked all your connections? eg: power switch to mobo, IDE connectors etc.
Would love to try and help, but need more input.
