ASUS A7S333 doesn't want to work

I built an ultra cheap system for my friend's Uncle and Aunt, and it doesn't want to work. The mobo gets midway through POST and dies. It gets to the hard drive/CD-ROM drive detection thing and freezes... Here are the specs to the system...

ASUS A7S333
Duron 1.3 gHz
256 MB PC2100 (Generic)
IBM 80 GB 7200 RPM DeathStar 120GXP
ATI Radeon VE Dual Display w/64 MB RAM
300w PSU (Generic)
