ASUS A7S-VM question

Does anyone have any experience with the ASUS A7S-VM motherboard and higher-speed CPUs?

Product Link

According to the specs on the ASUS website, the board can handle up to AMD 1.2ghz at 100FSB, I assume that means t-bird... I think AMD made the 1.4 with 100mhz fsb, but am not sure. If so, does anyone know if this board will take anything faster than the 1.2ghz?

according to the info on the asus site any bios revision and the board supports duron (spitfire) up to 950mhz and athlon (tbird 200mhz) up to 1.4ghz... this does not include any of the tbird 266mhz parts

also if you have bios revision 1006 or newer (there is also a beta bios 1007) then it also supports the duron (morgan) 1ghz and up

as a side note.. since 1006 or newer supports the duron(morgan) then there is a very good chance that the board will also be able to run athlonxp since they are basically the same core (just the duron has part of the cache disabled)

but even if it does run the athlonxp it will be running underclocked since the a7s-vm only supports 100mhz fsb
