I just built a couple of systems using Asus A7Pro MB's and everything works great except when I play MP3's from a cd or on the hard drive they crackle badly and can't even be heard.
I am using the latest a7p1008 bios, via 4in1v432 drivers, and I have usb enabled. I am using a Aureal Vortex SQ1500 sound card in one computer and a Yamaha Xwave 576(xg724 chipset)in the other. I have an Abit KT7 using the Aureal card and it plays everythi fine.
Both computer are running Win98se, 128 megs PC133, and Duron 750. All sound play fine except for MP3's??????????
Please help as I have spent way too much time trying to figure this out. Do I have to go to a SB card($$$$)??
