Asus A7N8X2.0...will it run 2400 Sempron CPU?

nvm....I figured it out. I have an old version BIOS. Gotta figure out how to flash new one 🙁

I am trying to run this chip in this mobo but it shows up on opening screen as an Athlon 1000 (also shows this way in SiSoftSandra). I know it is a 2400 Sempron chip, I just had it out lookin at it.

I tried to change the multiplier in the CMOS but it wouldnt run at higher multiplier.

What am I doin wrong?

Thanks for your time,
Jeff

Change the frontside-bus speed to 166MHz. On an A7N8X, you can do that in the BIOS by going to Advanced > Advanced Chipset Features and set CPU External Frequency to 166.

It sounds like you could use a BIOS update, too. download site and make sure you pick the right BIOS for your variant of A7N8X and your variant of printed circuit board.

Hey thanks...cool you got me to 1660 right quick. That will help till I figure out how to flash the BIOS.

Thanks!
Jeff
