Ok this software support company I was talking to told me that ATI9700pro(and ATI cards in general) are not compatible with the nforce-2 chip set/Asus A7N8X motherboards. This worries me because i have a ati9600pro that I plan on running on my new motherboard that is a A7N8X. Now I wonder if there is any truth to this and are there any current problems with the ATI+Nforce-2 chipset??

There was recently another thread on this exact subject. You may want to search for that one, but... I have a ATi/nForce 2 combo with no problems.

I've had compatability issues with several NF2 boards using several ATI cards but all were resolvable. I've found disabling 8xAGP support and fast writes while enabling video ram caching worked for the 8500le and 7000 with Shuttle and Soltek NF2 boards while with a Radeon 32mb AIW in a SN45G Shuttle cube, I used those settings plus had to install the chipset and video drivers in safe mode as drawing errors resulted within moments of booting to desktop otherwise. After applying the above fixes all the ATI cards ran fine.

Yeah disabling fast-writes is something you must do on all motherbaords, ATI does not support it.
Ok thank you, I these guys told me that nforce chipset and ATI cards have serious compatibility problems and told me to buy a via based board instead if I wanted stability, which I think is a load of bull, but just in case asking here.
