ASUS A7N8X Help

I read all the forums on the ASUS board and wish I could send it back however I'm stuck with it so I need your help please.

Here is what I have:

AMD XP 2800+
512MB PC3200 (Crucial)
WinXP with SP1
Nvidia GeForce Ti4600 AGP card
40GB HD
CD/ROM
floopy
ATX mid tower case with 4 fans
ATX 400w power supply
1005 BIOS
Volcano 9 colling fan
Lots of other stuff but not plugged in till I get the issues fixed.

I will be using he CPU and it will just reboot on me. Does it with regualr apps at times, does it with certain games sometimes. I loaded the games to push the processor.

Nothing is plugged in the USB ports except keyboard and mouse.

Any Ideas what could be causing this?

MB runs at about 25c and the processor runs steady at 35c to a max temp of 45c.

Spontaneous reboots are often caused by a weak power supply or problems on your power line. Is yours AMD approved? Do you have a surge protector on line?

It's probably the power supply.

I have a surge in line and teh power supply is an ANTEC with plenty of juice.

I don't have anything hanging off it like USB ports etc till I get it stable so I have plenty of juice to spare.

Are you getting hard reboots or BSOD with auto-restart turned on? If it is the latter, turn off auto-restart on error and report back to us with the BSOD text. It could be you are just having a driver problem.
