Hey ive got an asus a7n8x 2.0... with updated bios. I was jw why i cant increase the fsb by 1mhz incriments in the bios? i can only change it from 100, 133, 166, and 200. JW what i need to do to change this.. iknow theres gotta be a way. Thanks guys

Wherever it's set to "Optimal" in the BIOS, change it to "User Define" or "Aggressive," etc. That should get it working 😎

If you use the 1004 BIOS you can adjust the FSB up to 250 Mhz... if you use the 1005 BIOS it's limited to 233 Mhz. Mine runs just fine at 233.

ive been tweaking all night last night and some today, multiplier is running at 11*stock is 10.5* fsb 200... voltage 1.650 *stock*.. running great at 130F
clock speed is 2.204

Stock is 11, not 10.5 ... but it looks like you're getting about the same results I am. What week is your's?

What are the typical settings in the BIOS of this motherboard so I can start OCing. When ever I change anything I get an error, should I set everything to Optimal or aggressive?? I have a XP 2200+ how do I find out what core I have and what are the default settings for this proc??

Set things to user defined... that will let you change the FSB by 1 Mhz incriments... it says that in the manual, but maybe you got a refurbished motherboard that didn't come with a manual 😉 ... in that case, you can contact Asus and they'll send you the CD's and manual free of charge.

No I have a retail, but whats the deal with the memory frequency in percentages or by spd?? Also the CPU interface setting.

The percentages are percentages of the FSB... for example if you had a 200 Mhz FSB, and set the memory frequency to 83%, your RAM would be running at 166 Mhz. SPD I explained in the other thread that you started. The rest you can learn about by reading about 2 pages in your manual.

Hey Jeff...

My ASUS A7N8X Deluxe comes stock CPU Vcore 1.850V.

Why is mine different? I was going to over clock it to... at 220*10 at 1.850.. but not sure what the Vcore being higher will do?

The motherboard doesn't come with stock vcore of anything... that's up to the CPU. Either your CPU has been modified so that it thinks 1.850 is the default, or you're not reading it right, or you set it to 1.850 and forgot you did that. I don't think there's been an AMD CPU with a default vcore of 1.850 since the origional Athlon processors. Even the early Athlon XP's based on the Palomino core had a 1.750 default vcore.
