I have been looking at the Maxtor 250 GB SATA HD's and cannot confirm that they will work on this board. Salesman says I need another PCI card to get above 137GB recognized for certain. I would like to use it as another HD without Raid, another question left unanswered in the manual or at ASUS. Does anyone know the answers? My BIOS is 1006 but the later ones show improvements for memory compatibility only.

The board has been great for speed and stability.

If the drive is SATA you won't need a controller card, the 137GB limit applies only to IDE, not SATA. Either way the board will support the drive, SATA or not because the Nvidia IDE controller fixes the 137GB limit.
