Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Memory Question

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am a relative newbie and I am building my first complete system from scratch.

I just finished ordering a single stick of 512MB for my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard and then noticed a blurb on the ASUS website saying that it takes "Dual-Channel DDR400 Memory". Does this mean this mobo will not work with a single stick of Kingston PC3200 512MB DDR RAM (on sale at Newegg today)? Please tell me that the the dual-channel use is optional?

It will work fine with a single stick. Dual channel is an option.
