I have an Asus A7N8X DX motherboard, with an AMD 2400XP CPU, and 1Gig PC2700 RAM. I am puzzled as to what the best settings should be in setting this up in the BIOS

From what I understand, the 2400XP and PC2700 should support a 266Mhz bus speed. However, in the CPU speed selection area, I only have 100, 133, 166, and 200 as options. Where are the 266, 333, and 400 that this motherboard should support? I selected 166, and a multiplier of 12x for the CPU, so I've got the CPU running at 1973Mhz instead of 2000. I have notice an improvement in system speed, but I am still puzzled as to why I cannot reach the 266 speed I should be able to set the system to.

There are other BIOS settings I am puzzled about - AGP Spread Spectrum? System Setting Mode (Optimal, Agressive, User). Etc.

Is there a guide somewhere that could tell me what my best choices here?

Erg... the core only runs at 133Mhz... the FSB is doubled due to DDR.. thus 2x133=266... The same thing is basically done for the P4 which uses a quad multiplier, 4x200.

Take a read through the Official thread above... these questions have all been answered before and we're getting tired of the same old thigns coming up...
