Just built this PC for my son:

ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
AMD XP 2400+ Tbred
ARCTIC COOLING Copper Silent HS
ATI 9000 Pro 128mb
Samsung SP1213C 120GB SATA HD
256MB Kingston PC2100 DDR
RAIDMAX case w/ 420W PSU
CyberDrive 32x CDRW drive
Win XP Pro

Intalled all latest drivers & BIOS.

There have been several annoying problems that are puzzling me. During XP Pro install, Windows reported errors reading some files disk. I have a backup copy of XP that I swapped w/ the original disk...I had to do this a few times back & forth...But it appears to have installed OK. I have never experienced this before...???

I burned a CD on my PC w/ file of 3DMark2001 SE. When I try to install on new PC, I get error message about corrupted file.

Battlefield 1942 won't run...Splash screen comes up then disappears...Then nothing (no error message).

I have read a few forums & I am thinking that it may be bad RAM. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Those errors do sound RAM related. What slots do you have the sticks in?

Those problems could also be pad PSU (raidmax ?? cheap generic ?? not sure)

OR

Bad CDRW. All of these problems could be caused by incorrectly reading the data from the CDRW. Try a know good CD drive, as that should be easy to swap, OR add one in, and see if it fixes the problems by reading from the alternate drive.
