Asus A7N8X Deluxe, can it support the following...

prolly going to go with a 2500+/A7N8X Deluxe setup...

however, i was reading that the mobo has 2 x UltraDMA 133/100/66/33

will i be able to support this...(just need to double-check)

>> maxtor 7200rpm 40gb (main), deskstar 7200rpm 60gb (slave)
>> seagate pos-rpm 12gb
>> tdk velocd 24x40x10b cdrw
>> iomega atapi-100mb
>> floppy

>> and thinking about adding a dvd player later on


if i won't, any suggestions?

It'll support all your current hardware. You'd need a PATA to SATA adapter to put one of your harddrives on the SATA controller when you add on a dvd though.

just ditch the 12GB'er when you get the dvd. or pick up a dvd/cdrw combo... or better yet, dvd+/-rw drive :) the convertors will run you $20-$30. as for the zip drive... maybe he means in an external enclosure?

the 12gb pos-rpm is just for backup, so i can prolly pull that out...

as for the tdk velocd, i think i'll keep it till that motha dies

Yeah you can buy USB2 - to - IDE converter boxes, you can place hard disks in them. With a Zip drive, I'm not entirely sure how that would work, because you need to get to the front of the drive, Shirley? :confused:

Personally, I'd ditch the Zip drive, haven't used mine in a year or two now as I have a 64Mb USB drive that hangs off my keychain :)

true true... i'll take that to account, prolly get a smaller tower like the SLK3700AMB yes/no??? if i just keep this the following setup:
