ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Blue Screen Problemo...

I just upgraded to this mobo with an XP2600+ CPU, from an MSI Kt4 something or other and a XP2200+ CPU. I had zero probs with my MSI combo with games and everything else. However, on my Asus combo, I get random boots back to XP and the BSOD every so often in my games. I play mostly EA Sports game, and it even does it on the game HALO. I have all the drivers from the CD installed and I also have just flashed my BIOS to v1006. I have the 2.0 version of the Asus board. Why am I getting these problems? A few times, the BSOD said something about device driver nv4_blah blah being the culprit, so I took that to mean my GeForce4 drivers were causing it. I have tried 4 different driver packs, both Ms certified to betas, but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions here, or do these boards suffer from similar issues? Thanks!

Did you format before upgrading your hardware? My golden rule of mobo upgrades is format first (unless you're swapping for the same model).

That's the best way, if you can't, then uninstalling the motherboard drivers and reinstalling the new ones should help. Go to this page for more detailed info on it.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I did a complete format and fresh installation of XP Pro. I just ordered a new HD and will try aagin in a few days, thanks!
