I plan on building a PC, which would be the better combo? I don't plan on overclocking but according to some benchmarks I've seen the 2.6C runs better? I mostly play games and I do not know which one to get.

I haven't had any problems with my A7N8X retail, so I can (somewhat) highly recommend the A7N8X deluxe.

I can't comment on the Abit/Intel, but my A7N8X deluxe version 2 and overclocked 2600+ runs very stable and quick.

I think it just comes down to price and Intel vs. AMD preference. Me, I prefer the performace-per-dollar of an AMD system, but (though I may get flamed for this) a top-dollar high-end Intel system will probably be faster. If you go AMD, consider the 2500+ Barton. It's $90 at newegg.com and a great performer for the money. Plus, it should have little problem running with a 400MHz bus on the A7N8X and will be within a few % of the P4 2.6C for less than 50% of the price (2.6C at newegg is $215). You can put the price difference in to more RAM and help make up the slight speed advantage of the 2.6C.

Personally, for what I do at the moment there's nothing I throw at my computer that it can't handle with fantastic speed. For games, I suspect there is little real-world difference between 158 fps and 164 fps... (hypothetical #s, before someone flames).
