I have been haveing a continoues error message upon boot up.
I keep getting a Bios Check Sum Error which causes me
to have to flash the bios everytime.
You didn't mess it up with all the flashing? I would try a new bios chip if its removable and not soldered on. The bios code could be damaged or a bad bios chip. Only other thing I could think of would be having the clear cmos jumper set wrong.
YIKES! Gads man, you don't want to have to flash the BIOS any more than is ABSOLUTELY necessary. There is a real danger of messing the BIOS up when you flash LOTS of times.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a Checksum error a sign of major trouble?
I need to correct myself there.
It has not done it in the past few days.
But I am afraid that it may do it again.
If it does istead of racking my brain would it be worth just getting am RMA?
I went ahead and changed the battery as per ASUS tech support.
They told me to give it a few days and see what happens.
If it does it again they are gonna send me a new one.
