asus a7n8x BIOS screwup

I was flashing my a7n8x deluxe (rev 1.04) to the new 1008 BIOS, and in the middle of it, the system hung. I left it sit for 3 hours, but nothing changed, so I turned if off. Now the BIOS is corrupted. I've tried the following article:

http://www3.telus.net/agentsmith/articles/article1.html

But that didn't work. I do not have any way to hot flash the system, so am I stuck with ordering a replacement BIOS chip?

Maybe you've tried this already... but on page 21 of the user manual ... Clear RTC RAM/CMOS.
If this works you'll be back to the original CMOS version that the mobo was delivered with. If it doesn't work ... you can order a new CMOS Chip !!!
If you don't have the user manual and have a working PC ... go to ASUS downloads and get the PDF file for that mobo.

looks like you might need to replace the bios chip or get the existing chip reflashed.

asus lists 2 different bios for that board

1- for rev 2.0
2- for revs 1.X

you did use the correct one ?

next time when flashing your bios do it with the live flash. You can do it in windows over the internet. Thats how I flashed my a7n8x.

ordered a new chip...didn't work. The old corrupt BIOS chip at least looked for something on the floppy drive. Since I'm @ college, I might see if one of my EE friends would program it in one of their labs.

I've checked this about 10 times now...it clearly says "rev 1.04".
