Asus A7N8X and Altec ACS54

I'm not to sure where the problem lies, but the issue is that the front speakers are not working while the rear ones are. The front cable is plugged into the green (line out) jack while the rear cable is plugged into the violet (surround) jack. I don't want to have to install my SB Live! in order to get my speakers to work correctly--can anyone offer any assistance?

Actually, The problem it seems is that the front case speaker jack, when the leads are attached to the motherboard it requires you to remove the jumpers that connects the line out to the line out jack on the motherboard... I need to split the signal somehow, anyone have an idea how to do it?
