Asus A7N266-VM graphics question (fixed!)

Hi

I've just built a new system using a A7N266-VM, it all works great apart from the inability to select the 1152x864, 1280x960 resolutions in windows. I'm using the onboard graphics with the lastest Nforce drivers (2.03) and the 41.13 display drivers.

Spec:

AthlonXP 2000+
Asus A7N266-VM
512Mb Crucial PC2100
Western Digital Caviar SE 80Gb
Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 93SB
WinXP Pro

Anyone know why I can't get those resolutions? The monitor and graphics support it.

One other thing... In device manager should the IDE controller be listed as a 'Standard IDE Controller' using the MS driver, or should the Nforce drivers have replaced it with something else?

Thanks!

It's normal for the IDE controllers to be listed as standard IDE controllers on nForce classic, I believe. With nForce2 boards, the driver pack can make WindowsXP view them as SCSI, but it's generally best to avoid that (long story 😀).

As for the monitor... try telling Windows that it's a Samsung 955DF instead of a Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 93SB, because on our work systems, we are able to get both of those resolutions using A7N266-VM's with the Samsung 955DF. Hope that helps you out f300! 😀

Thanks for your reply

I just tried doing as you said, but when set the a 955DF those resolutions are still not available for selection.

Hmm, I wonder if it's because ours use Win2000 instead of XP 😕 You might try installing the latest nVidia Detonator video drivers as if it were an add-in card and see what happens then, I'd be curious to hear what the result is if you do 🙂

I've downloaded and installed the latest drivers from nvidia.com (Detonator FX!

)

I can now get 1280x768 which i couldn't with the previous drivers, but still not 1152 or 1280x960! 😕

I just put one of these together and the onboard did not have a option for 1152. Maybe it just does not support it? As I put in a GF2ti card and the 1152 popped up.
