Asus A7N266-VM CPU problem

Just bought the mobo and put in a 1700+. Even with WCPUID it only will recognize 1.10Ghz instead of 1.47. I also just updated to the new 1006 BIOS for this mobo. Still, I can't OverClock the CPU, or even change the multi. or fsb. Please Help.

**Also, I have 512 PC2100 and in Properties of My Computer it only says 480. Any clues on this?**
 
The FSB is controlled by a set of jumpers above the AGP slot. The original manual depicts them upside down from their physical orientation, so pay attention to the correction page they've been inserting. For 133/133 CPU/RAM, you should have a jumper on the left two pins of the top row, and the left two pins of the bottom row.

The "missing" RAM is being used by your onboard video 🙂 512Mb - 32Mb = 480Mb. Hope that helps! 🙂

Oh, and this isn't an overclockable board, sorry. There's a modification that some people have done to "unlock" the board, but a couple have killed their A7N266-VM's this way.

Yes, thanks MechBGon, I looked at the jumper settings and they weren't set in the correct pattern, I changed them and now computer reads 1.47. Thanks for coming to my rescue. I don't know how I missed it, guess I just got a little too excited. Do you think it necessarily makes the computer run faster now that it reads the proper speed? And thanks for the mem help. I haven't ever had an onboard Vid card, so that was new for me too. If I can ever help you with anything somehow you know the same. Later man, Peace!
 
Yeah, the CPU does actually run slower at the other setting, it's not just a cosmetic thing. 🙂 Glad I could help out 😀
