Hi all, I am new to this board and I was hoping you could assist me somehow.

I just built a new PC with the help of a buddy of mine that contains the following parts.

Athlon XP 1900
ASUS AN266-C (Nforce 415D) (1.00D bios)
VisionTek GF3 Ti200 with TV out.
2X256 DDR 2100 RAM
Maxtor 80GB 7200RPM
SB audigy OEM.
Toshiba 16X DVD.
Win XP prof.

This is supposed to be a screamer system but I am only getting 5000 or so on MadOnion 2001.
My buddies PC which has

Athlon 1400
MSI Nforce Pro board
Asus GF3 Ti200
2X256 DDR 2100 RAM
Win XP prof.
etc...

is getting over 7000 score. both boards are set to 220/500.

I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers ( 28.32 ), latest Nforce drivers from Nvidia and everything has been updated in Windows update.
I haven't tweaked anything other than the VisionTek clock/mem.

Is there anything I am missing? is there a particular way to install the drivers? Do I need a new bios revision?

I'd really appreciate any help anyone can offer. We were expecting a much higher performance.

what are your BIOS settings? Did you set FSB/memory ratio to 1:1 or 3:4?

I have the Asus A7N266-C with an original Visiontek GF3 (no OC) and Athlon XP 1600+ (1.4ghz, stock) and I get between 7500-7600.

Yes, I did set it to 1:1. I am at a complete loss. No idea why the low scores. I installed the latest Nvidia Detonator drivers 28.32, latest nForce drivers, no avail.

I am tempted to reinstall the whole thing. I even made sure I didn't place multiple devices on shared IRQ slots.

I'd apppreciate any help you can provide. Email is ok if you wish to communicate faster.

Not really sure what your problem might be, but have you tried the following (fiarly obvious I know - just ruling them out) steps?

Disabled the onboard audio in the BIOS?

Made sure you are not getting 60hz refresh rates in 3d apps?

Turned off anti-aliasing when benchmarking?
