ASUS A7n266-C no overclock or def CPU FSB?

I have a 166Mhz FSB Athlon XP 2600+ in an ASUS A7N266-C Mobo.

The mobo has FSB up to 172Mhz but I can't get the CPU to go anywhere
else than 133Mhz (1666Mhz), but it says in BIOS it is runing 166-167Mhz.

I have check the jumper for the jumperfree setting and all. wcpuid says
1662 and Linux too, I tried runing openssl speed rsa and got the same
result with 133, 150 and 167 Mhz FSB in BÌOS. Tried to flash the bios to
1004 and 1005 beta too.

Does anyone know why it wont go to def FSB for the CPU? I have tried
using SoftFSB but it couldn't determine PPL and I couldn't find it on the
PCB.

DO I have to get another Mobo? I have been runing it for along while, thinking
it was 2100Mhz since AUS probe reported it that way, but now I did some intence
testing, and foud out it wasn't.

I know that, but shouldn't I be able to run the CPU regardless at 150 or 167 Mhz FSB?

That is what I find to be odd, perhaps the BIOS thinks as it
prints out, that it's an XP 2000+ and sett the FSB accordingly.

Honestly, I doubt the chipset itself could hack it at 166MHz. I remember when the first SocketA chipsets came out and the chipsets themselves struggled with 10% bus OC's. If you upgrade, consider the Abit NF7-S since it has the Soundstorm audio, Firewire, USB 2.0 and is known as one of the best overclockers for SocketA.

It never goes over 133, not even 135 or anything.
The PCI clk says locked at 33 all the way up.

I have fiddle around with it a few times now, and it seems whatever I do,
it stays at 133Mhz FSB, no matter what I set the FSB in the BIOS to.

I wonder what the FSB setting does if it can't be changed. Never experienced this
on any of my KT333/SiS746F or BX mobos.
