I recently bought a seagate barracuda 160 gig hard drive and have had problems booting it up with my computer. First it was giving me the blue screen of death at random stages of the windows xp installation so I put the hard drive into another computer with a different motherboard to try and install windows and it worked perfectly. After installing windows I tried to boot it up with my computer again and it would not load windows. I then tested it with another computer that had the same motherboard model and did the same thing. The computer detected the hard drive but basically froze after the bios screen. Any ideas as to whats going on?

BIOS version? The latest public release version is 1007. You need at least Version 1006 for 48-bit LBA support.

The latest beta BIOS is 1008.02b released 9/13/02.

Hmm...thanks for the info. The thing is one of the computers that I tried it on already had revision 1007. Maybe I'll give it another go with the 1008. any other suggestions?
