Saw these rumors flying around on alt.comp.mainboard.asus newsgroup.

Anyone have any factual news on this at all ? If so please post any web links.

I was thinking about buying this MB soon now I'm not so sure.

Thanks !

Bah, this is an old rumour that was started by a sales rep at TC computers. Rumour is all it is. Sure, all boards are discontinued some day...

Though the rumour is unconfirmed and has even been denied by Asus some time ago, it's very likely A7M266 will be phased out as A7V266 is released. AMD-760 is an expensive platform due to it's high PCB and component quality requirements, and as VIA KT266 chipset matures, it should offer compareable or better performance with reduced manufacturing costs.

do you think it's possible for a ECC and a Non-ECC ram to run together on the same mobo?

Well yes all MB's do eventually hit the market graveyard. But, if true I think it would be somewhat premature as the AMD 760/DDR combo seems to be on par or even better then Ali or VIA with some of the benches I've seen.

I'm hoping this would be just the first iteration of that combo.
