my friend just got an asus A7m266 and 1.2 tbird. Im having trouble installing his cpu. After i put the cpu into the socket. The lever wont close back down. It should be easy to pull the lever down right? (it is on my cusl2-c). This is my first time touching an AMD mobo but they should be the same i think? Can anyone help?

it should have some resistance, but not a whole lot. maybe some of the pins got bent on the cpu and its having to straighten them out.

just make sure its in there right and give the lever a little more pressure

Hello I have the same mobo and the lever took more force to push than i originally thought it would. Other things to check for is that the cpu is seated correctly and that the pins are all straight. Unfortunately it's hard to convey how hard i had to push to get that sucker down. of course it was only the 2nd comp i had built so i didn't have much experience either.

yea its seems like im going to break the lever.. i checked all the pins and they are all straight..i wanna help my friend but i dont want to pay for it if i break it!!..
