Asus A7M266-D

I am looking at an Asus A7M266-D. I am also looking at Dual Duron 1300s. Obviously neither Asus, nor AMD are gonna answer this truthfully. I read on Tom's Hardware that the board can't run Dual Durons. Comments made in another topic lead me to believe that this will work fine. Any input?

Yes the board WILL run dual durons as I had that board and put in 2 1Ghz durons to start. The only thing you need to do is make sure the last bridge on the L5 is connected.

BUT with the prices of Athlon XP's so low right now, you would do better to get 2 1600+'s, as I did. Or get one XP chip and run it until you have enough to get the other. I thin it is only a $15 diff. between the Duron and a XP chip.

I sold my Asus board and now have a Chaintech one. The only reason is that the USB2.0 is on-board and it has a Raid chip. But I loved the C-Media sound card on the Asus board.
