I got this monster read to go. Everything is running fine. Lovely beap in the beginning out of the moster inwin Q500. THe fan's are turning, lights flashing... computer recognizes my maxtor 80 gig, both 1800's... the cdrom and the ram, and the floppy...

But the key board aint workin...I can''t press delete to get into the bios. It wont even press enter... or ctrl alt del....

Has anyone experienced this probleM??? I've tried a couple key boards which work fine anywhere else...
I dont think there is a jumper setting for keyboards...

Only thing that might cause a problem is the 300 watt powersupply ... they said 400 would be nicer. But everything runs fine... just cause of that it shouldn't effect the key board right?

Please help me out... any input it better than none. I'm building two of these servers... I'm gonna see how the other one handles it... I'll keep u up to date... but input please!

We didn't have the same problem on the 2nd server. But while installing win2k and doing some tests.... we ran into another problem Whenever the computer get's cpu intensive it just shuts down.

The 300 watt power supply isn't nearly enough. So STUPID!!! Damn... why didn't I think of this. I'm getting a 460 watt powersupply made for this freaking board... and I'm getting a new mobo for that defective keyboard port.

We're trying to make these a rememberence to the twin towers. We're naming it after them. We're going to run REd HAt Linux 7.2 Server on one and Windows 2k Advanced server on the other.

Why U ask? Some might say go with Red Hat its much better... I agree. Some might say windows... But that's exactly why.
Hopefully we'll get all these things running and cranking out trillions of numbers before the end of the month.

Any input or suggestions would be cool... thanx

I am 99% sure it's not a defective keyboard port - check your connections, I think the cable near HDD LED, Keylock, etc are mislabeled, I believe the HD LED is actually separated from the rest of those connections but nearby. Try unplugging that - your board should now boot with keyboard! :)
