Does the ASUS A7M266-D motherboard support the new AMD Athlon MP2200?
The MP2200 has a Thoroughbred core, while the old MP CPUs have a Palomino core.

Thanks in advance.

From looking around at the AMD MB ASUS Forum it seems that the 2200MP might work but a 2100 definatly will work. Why not go for that instead. There is not going to be much of a difference between the two. They have a very informative "Sticky" on that board over there you might want to do some reading on. Lots of crapola but lots of good information also.

I think you have to "FIX" more bridges on the 2200+. I would just run a 2000+ and wait until the NEWWER .13 2200+ comes out.

But go to amdmb.com OR 2cpu.com and check out there forums, I also run a Asus Dual board. Update your Sound drivers if you are using the on-board sound, the 639 drivers work GREAT

I also have this mobo and love it! Like Marlin said, I'd wait for the new .13 Tbred to be reasonable $$ before I upgrade again, assuming the new bios supports it. :)
