Asus A7M266 + 2600+ ?

I have an older Asus A7m266 m/b with Althon T-bird 1.4 Ghz right now (512mb ddr266 ram).
Do the new AMD chips work in this board (2400 or 2600+)?
 
I know you can run a 2200+ with a BIOS update and setting up the jumpers on the MOBO...e-mail ASUS, they were helpful with me. I have read many threads at www.amdmb.com and most people are having a hard time running the newer T-breds on this board.
