asus a7m 266 & Athlon XP

I cant get my 1600 athlon xp to boot?
I was told by many ppl that they work fine on this mobo.
Do I need to flash my bios or something?
I put my 1.133 t-bird back in & its fine?
Please help!

Yes, you need to flash that mobo's BIOS to the latest one in order for it to recognize and operate with the latest athlonXP cpu's. Your best bet is to flash your mobo while you have your tbird 1.113 chip in there, and once you have finished flashing, then change your cpu's.
