Has anyone had any experience mating the ASUS A7A266 motherboard and the AMD XP2000 (1.67Ghz) chip? The mobo specs say 1.2ghz+; on the Socket A site, it's says the MOBO can handle 1.66ghz+

I am already running the XP BIOS, for the 1.2 Ghz (200 FSB) T-Bird that is in the mobo now. Is it as easy as switching the chips out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You must have PCB revision 1.10 or higher for this board to correctly support Athlon XP processors. You can find the PCB rev printed next to the name of the motherboard in between the PCI slots.

You may be able to get a rev 1.04 board working if you are lucky. A rev 1.03 board does not work with Athlon XP processors, ie AXP1500+ and above.

Thank you. I have to get in front of the board to take a look...I am at work now. So if it's an older version, I guess I am screwed...
