ASUS A7A266 motherboard problem - weird one too.

okay so I've got this ASUS A7A266 motherboard - uses the ALI magik chipset for AMD cpu's

the board has a GREEN LED next to the ATX power plug to show if it's getting power or not.
the LED is lit - meaning that the system is getting power.
however, it will not boot up. no POST, no beeps, nadda.
the power supply will not even power up - yet when plugged into an ATX tester it turns on just fine.

so what do the guru's here think?
system states it's getting power, yet nothing will turn on.

any help would be greatly appreciated

It maybe the video card? Try a differnt card

Make certain that all cards and connectors are properly seated.

I have had issues with video cards not being completely in all the way and the system behaving exactly as you specify. Other issues as well, but not pertinent to your mobo.

are you sure the cable from the power on switch/button is connected to your motherboard?.... i was so excited today when i built my system that i forgot to plug in the wire from the power switch on to the motherboard.... i got freaked out thought it was dead...plugged it in...turned on....and thats when my problems started :\
