I run an asus a7a266 and t-bird (c) 1.4 with a coolermaster 6I11 5000 rpm hsf. I thought my temps were outrageous too, consistently 58-68 C. The MB temp is usually around 30 C also. I don't know if the processor is actually that hot, or if the temp. diode on the board is inaccurate.

Anyway, thought I'd let you know I'm in the same boat with no other options.

The temperature probe on the A7A266 is incorrect. It is out by 10C degrees.

ASUS instituted this offset with BIOS version 1003 to give what they believed to be more accurate temperature readings, although it seems that the original reading was closer to correct. They never bothered to remove the 10C offset in subsequent BIOS versions, and even carried it over to the A7A266-E and A7A133.

MrBlunt: your real temperatures are closer to 59-62 degrees.
