Asus 7700, Overclocking, and Smartdoctor

I have read that smartdoctor is supposed to dynamically change the cards speed based on the integrated temperature probe, thus allowing for the max possible safe overclock at all times.

Does smartdoctor in itself overclock the card? Or do I have to oc it using another utility and smartdoctor will only turn the throttle down?

SmartDoctor sticks with the given clockspeed, and temporarily lowers it if card gets too hot. So yes, you'll need a seperate overclocking program to do the initial overclock. I used Asus Tweak with SmartDoctor, but I'm pretty sure anything will do.

For some reason when I use the provided ASUS Tweak program, it switches my video card into refresh rates my monitor does not. Right after network login under win98 the monitor goes out and makes the incorrect refresh rate whinning noise. The computer still works fine and if by memorized keyboard commands I can load up a game that switches the video mode, all is fine. Upon exiting the game to windows, the refreshrate goes back to normal and works fine. Just screws up at bootup.

Any ideas?
Any recomendations for other GF2 overclocking programs?
