Hi all!

i have just bought a 2.8 GHz p4 Prescot (lga775) CPU with DDR2 memory and a abit aa8 dura max mainboard. my question is: is the Asus v9999 deluxe (6800 ultra) suport PCI-Express?i know it says AGP but the nvidia site says the 6800 series suport both agp and pci-express...so? will the asus 6800 ultra work on my system? i know that but the bfg is both agp and pci-express. is the asus the same? if it not as the bfg then when will the pci-express version be out? before september?

thanks for your help!

Because the card can be one or the other. It still can't be both. It's like you can get a PCI modem, or an AMR modem, or a CNR modem, or an ISA modem, or a PCIe modem, or a serial port modem, or a USB modem, or a PC Card modem.

Here is an article with a nice little picture that shows a 6800 XT AGP 8x and a 6800 GT PCIe 16x. You'll notice that the connectors are different sizes, so it would be physically impossible to connect a PCIe card into an AGP slot or vice versa. The Geforce 6800 Ultra on PCI-E will not be on the market until the end of September.
