My dad is majorly upgrading 3930k, RIVE, 32GB, SSD, H100 and more.

He has a 5770 I am leaning to 7950 or 7970 for him.

He loves the reviews the 660ti is getting from ASUS

There have been really good deals to be had on the 660ti going under 200$ after a MIR, that 7950 above is a pretty darn good deal.

if he has been happy with AMD then just grab a 7950. a 660 ti and 7950 are equal at stock but if ocing the 7950 will easily be the faster card. plus 3gb of vram sounds better at this point than 2gb.

The Asus 660ti or the AMD 7950 would both be good choices. They are pretty much tit for tat. The 7950 is cheaper after rebate tho. Not sure if the extra RAM is really needed gaming @ 1080p, but it is good to have.

Does he like Batman, btw? Comes free with a 660ti purchase...so while it is $20 more overall it breaks even when the game price is included.

If he is a noise nazi like myself, which ever card has better load temps so the fan can spin the lowest is the one I'd go with because gaming wise you won't notice any difference.
