ASUS 4850 trade up

Hi,

I have one of the first ASUS HD4850's made with the tiny fan that runs hot (and/or loud). I also hate constantly babysitting the fan speed.
Is there any way to trade it in or somethnig like that for a newer 4850 where they fixed the problems with this card like a larger fan and running hot?

I wouldn't mind adding a custom fan if it was easy (a few screws or clip on) but from what I've seen thus far it seems a bit beyond what I want to do with the modifying the big, one piece heatsink/fan combo

Thanks

This won't solve the fact that it's loud, but why not use RivaTuner to control fan speed based on temperature? That way you won't have to change it manually when you want to switch to graphics-intensive applications.

Look around in FS/FT for someone who put an aftermarket cooler on their newer 4850 and has a stock HSF they don't need

I would also recommend the Accelero S1 and yes, installation is pretty straight forward. Just make sure your case is wide enough to accomodate it.
