This is a pretty thick notebook but shouldn't run too hot(Sandy Bridge 35W TDP and supports SpeedStep). There are some video reviews of this notebook on youtube if you want a better look.

Does this model like the older celeron x54 have a sticker on the side of the box (upper corner) stating it has a 1 year accidental warranty for free if you register with asus

Note only two total USB 1 USB 3 and 1 USB 2

In my experience, even a cheap ASUS is still a well-made laptop.

This is hot. :)

Dual core Sandy Bridge? Nice! Probably has a crap screen, but can't beat the value at $218.

Yup, i bought one, it's already shipped. I'm going to add a 4GB DDR3 stick to it and remove the hard drive and replace it with a Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB drive with a fresh install of Windows 7.

Should make a nice media center laptop.

Other than the 4 cell battery, every else could be upgraded. It can run Hackintosh Mountain Lion. Oh yeah. Too bad I already got a laptop.
